Our history

French owned Les Vergers Du Mékong - in English, The Mekong River Orchards - was established in Vietnam in the year 2000.

• The major shareholder is the French coffee roaster CAFES FOLLIET-TROPICO established in 1880 in Savoie, France. They enjoy a leading position in the French market, supplying more than 20,000 hotels and restaurants, which represent more than a million cups of espresso coffee every day.
• At the origin of the project, Jean-Luc Voisin from Savoy, the General Manager, has an extensive 20 years of experience within the food and agribusiness. After initial experience with NESTLE in Europe and Africa, he managed a company specialising in the study, implementation and marketing of soya processing equipment, fruit and dairy plants in emerging countries. He also worked as a consultant for organisations such as the FAO and the European Union.

Les Vergers Du Mékong chose Vietnam to establish its factory for its incomparable natural resources. Its orchards produce more than six millions tonnes of fruits per year, with more than 30 different varieties, both tropical (pineapple, mango, passion fruit, etc.) from the Mekong Delta and temperate (raspberry, strawberry, etc.) from the Highlands. Vietnam is also the first world producer of Robusta and the second world producer of green coffee. Production has no limits.
